Description

Starting at Phillip Drive it is a downhill ride or walk to the Sunbury Town Centre via the picturesque Blind Creek reserve.

Key destinations and attractions along the path include: Killara Primary School, Stewarts Lane Nature Reserve, St Annes Catholic School (slight detour), Sunbury West Primary School (slight detour), Sunbury Retirement Village (slight detour), Sunbury Recreation Reserve, Clarke Oval, Sunbury BMX track, Sunbury Skate Park, Sunbury Aquatic Centre, Sunbury Lawn Tennis Club, Sunbury Bowling Club, Riddell Road children's playground (new installation in 2011), Sunbury Secondary College, Salesian Rupertswood Catholic College, Rupertswood Mansion, Rupertswood/Blind Creek Lake, historic Melbourne-Bendigo Blind Creek Railway Bridge and the Sunbury Town Centre (up the steep Rupertswood Access Road to Macedon Street).

The path was constructed in 2009-11 with funding from the Commonwealth Government's Nation Building Stimulus Program and the Victorian Government's Creating Better Places Program. Further works include shared path connections to Sherwood Estate along Racecourse Road, zebra crossing on Evans Street at the Macedon Street intersection, footpath improvements along Riddell Road (between Ligar Street and Horne Street) and an off road connection from Rupertswood along the Blind Creek to 'The Nook' which will provide a cross-town connection that links with the existing shared paths through Goonawarra, Jacksons Creek and Rolling Meadows (NB: this connection requires the consent of the Salesian Order and negotiations are continuing).
