Starting at Lions Park, spend a moment at the magnificent mural : 'The Beautiful Suburban Bubble' by Blender Studios and Adrian Doyle.
Walk west along Main St and turn left onto Hutchinson St. Take a right along Melba Avenue and locate the wayfinding sign close to the railway crossing.
Use the QR code to access the Wurundjeri Wandoon story of the Yarning Circle. Take a moment to reflect on the importance of the Yarning Circle in preserving knowledge.
Turn around and take in the stunning views as the mountains of the Great Dividing Range form a magnificent backdrop across the Olinda Creek flats.
Read or listen to the historical story of the Memorial Gates and their tribute to the fallen men and women who gallantly served in WW2 and the historical link between the region and Dame Nellie Melba.
From the wayfinding sign, cross the level crossing onto Cave Hill Rd and head towards Lilydale Station, admiring the heritage listed avenue of trees on your journey.
Cross over Maroondah Hwy at Lilydale Station. Stop for a toilet break, a short rest or a drink of water.
Head west along Maroondah Hwy towards Cave Hill Rd. Stop at the wayfinding sign and use the QR code to read or listen to the Wurundjeri Wandoon story of William Barak. Imagine why the area was referred to as the Duck Swamp.
Take care crossing over Cave Hill Rd.
