Exit Cave Hill Rd and continue west along Beresford Rd to Victoria Rd where you will find your next wayfinding sign.

Use the QR code to read or listen to the Wurundjeri Wandoon story of the Birrurung.

Did you know that 'birrurung' is the Woi-wurrung word for the Yarra River and means 'river of mists'.

Stay listening to the historical story of how Beresford Rd was named and what events occurred at this particular junction. Take a moment to look around you from the high point on Victoria Rd at the beautiful mountains surrounding Lilydale and beyond.

Turn left along Victoria Rd for one block and turn left on Blair St. Enjoy the neighbourhood stroll until you reach Kidgell St. Turn right and follow Kidgell St until the junction of Albert Hill Rd.

Follow Albert Hill Rd towards Lilydale Station as it intersects with Cave Hill Rd.
Cross Cave Hill Rd to find your next wayfinding sign.

Use the QR code to read Aunty Doreen's Wurundjeri Wandoon story about William Barak. William Barak was a charismatic leader, artist and campaigner for Aboriginal rights.

Stay listening and reading to the historical stories of the Wilson family and the Duck Swamp. The Duck Swamp ran from the station to Nelson Rd over the low lying land and flooded regularly.

Can you see the olive tree. This tree is heritage listed.

Make your way north along Cave Hill Rd back to Poyner Reserve.

This walk is classed as easy - intermediate due to the gradient of the hills. Some streets only have the footpath on one side of the road, so please take care.
