An assessment of the local Prospect suburb to determine the walkability and suitability of the area for a young family.
Along the walk, six main areas were visited to assess the suitability of the area based on the following criteria: footpaths, facilities, crossing the road, traffic, safety and aesthetics.
The six sites visited were:
- St. Helen's Park
- Milner Street
- BP Service Station
-Prospect Primary School
- Coles
- Prospect Oval Area
Along the way, points of interest were noted including potential issues for walkability and other features which enhance the suburb.

A playground for kids to play.
A facility for public use.
A good place behind St. Helens park to play basketball with friends.
A park/garden. A playground is available, and it also includes art, a stage, bins and a public toilet. A good place to walk your dog.
A good shady place with lots of big trees. It features seating, art and drinking fountains.
Improving the roads and footpaths.
A nice street with big trees. It lacks seating and there are parked cars blocking the path and view.
An oval for playing sport. Contains facilities such as a bakery and toilets.
A dangerous place to be wandering in by yourself.
A good place to purchase everyday items. Also near Prospect Primary School.
A co-ed school with a safe road crossing. Includes a playground and an oval.
Traffic in this area is dangerous, but there is a crossing nearby.
The BP Station is a place where you can refill both yourself and your car. Also near Blackfriars Primary School.
