Walk through South Wangaratta reserves and open space
Begin at Wareena Park (toilets available) and follow the One Mile Creek shared pathway south under Tone Road and through Bachelors Green (toilets available). Keep following the shared path until it crossed Vincent Road (toilets available at the scout hall on the south side of Vincent Road). Turn left and follow Vincent Road over Murdoch Road, turning left onto Chomley Ave. When Chomley Ave runs into Gayer Ave turn right, and then an immediate left, onto Riverview Crescent. There is no footpath at the beginning of Riverview Crescent, but it is a very quiet road and there is a wide grassy verge. Halfway along Riverview is a nice grassy rest area with seats overlooking Kaluna Park. When Riverview runs into Millard Street (formerly Murdoch Road) make a right and walk along to the entrance to Merriwa Park. Follow the pathway down onto the levee bank (toilets available) and along to the entrance on Ely Street. Walk up Ely Street, turn left onto Ryley Street and then right onto Ford Street, continuing on to turn left onto Ovens Street. Once on Ovens Street make a right onto Cusack Street, following it up to the railway station (toilets available). Use the pedestrian crossing to go over the railway tracks and access Cusack Street on the other side. Follow this down to the One Mile Creek shared pathway again and turn south (left) to follow back to Wareena Park.
