Summary

We walked around to important places in Prospect for a Geography Audit.

Description

Our class paired up and each group got assigned a particular type of person within the community, such as young person, boy on a skateboard, or person on crutches. We then looked at Prospect from the position of our person, to see if it was walkable.

Points of Interest

1. St Helen's Park

St Helen's Park was our first stop in our audit. It is a clean, open and flat area which makes it a great place for the community to gather. The gazebo and trees also provide wide areas of shade.

2. Back streets of Prospect

The back streets of Prospect are very clean, smooth and safety-inclined. We passed a roundabout and many speed bumps/speed controllers, and also saw many tree lined streets along the way.

3. Prospect Oval

Prospect Oval is a great social and sporting area of Prospect. It is very open and wide, with a clean grandstand, which promotes safety and happiness.

4. Prospect/Rosary School

Both schools are very safe and clean areas. The both have trees for shade and speed restrictions on nearby roads.

5. Coles Shopping Precint

The shopping centre is a very clean and modern. It has smooth, flat floors and is easily accessible from the carpark. It has a smooth elevator for prams and trollies.

6. Vine Street Courtyard

The Vine street courtyard is a really nice area in Prospect. It has many trees for shade and seats which are good for having picnics. It also has a snakes and ladders square for fun.

7. BP Service Station

The service station is very wide and smooth. It has shade and looks nice.
