This track provides a pretty easy 2km walk with exciting points of interest scattered around for the kids and the adults. There is always something to see and do around the track which makes it fun for children. The upcoming land marks keep you wanting to walk further. Sometimes children see walking as a boring chore and not a fun and healthy activity, but when you are walking around the lake you are always waiting to see what you find next. The walk flies by and you don't even realised that you just walked the 2kms.
Attractions along the way include a large playground, a skate park, the lake and the river, among other things for the kids and a café for the adults where you can grab a cup of coffee and sit on the outdoor table while you soak up some sun. From time to time there are mazes painted on the grass for the kids to play in and explore. They are fun to tackle for the little ones. The walk provide something new to the walk each time which is something not many other walks give.
Walking around the lake is never the same as the last time because of the new activities, the wildlife such as birds and fish and new people. There is always something new to see like skaters at the skate park. These things add another element of interest to walking.
It is well worth the walk just to see what the Greater Shepparton Shire Council has done with the area. There are a couple of signs up around the walk that show what the council has done, as well as signs that propose new ideas and ask for your feedback.
It is clear the council takes pride in what they have provided the community with. The grounds and tracks are kept in top condition and are always clean and safe.
I would recommend this walk to anyone looking for a walk that won?t take too much time out of their day. The walk fits into the day before or after work or even during a lunch break. It is also good for someone with a family who is interested in joining them, and who likes to spend time in the fresh air with their family. Other people who would enjoy The Victoria Park Lake Walk would include everyone from school groups to cyclists.
