At the end of a short drive from Woodend is the Hanging Rock Discovery Centre. Have a look at the history of the area before venturing onto the walking trail to see Hanging Rock itself and further up to The Summit. The summit is a class 3 walking track and 1800 metre return trip. On a clear day there are great views over the area and plenty of rocks to climb on. Take the stairs on the way up and the walking track on the way down. It is very steep in places and can be slippery especially on a wet day. It is well worth the climb though.

Soaring boulders on the way up the trail.
The Hanging Rock is suspended between other rocks. Walk under it if you're game!
