A walk through several of the small reserves following a sporadic tributary of Yuroke Creek.
There are some lovely walking areas following this tributary of Yuroke Creek, so don't be put off by its uninspiring name (Shankland Drain in its lower course, at least according to Google Maps)!
Start your walk at the small car park off Ravenhill Boulevard in the Shankland Reserve. Follow the track either side of the small bird-filled lake northwards, crossing Roxburgh Park Drive into Matthews Reserve, then to Claire Reserve, which is being improved by council.
Continue north-east through Kirwan Park and the attractive Marsden Walk with small cottages facing the park rather than the street. Cross the reserve for the transmission line, with a small detour for another birdlife pond. The walk ends at the round pond in Boyden Square, with a lot more birds.
You can walk further north and then east ending at Roxburgh Rise Primary School, or return to the start, taking a few alternative paths around some of the ponds, which are an attractive feature of this walk.

More birdlife perching and enjoying the sun.
Well the slightly over-elaborate design seems to want you to think so. Looking back the way we have come.
