Cliff walk along yarra bend. All unmade and often steep paths.
1. Start along Yarra main trail, diverting left along unsigned track to left of 'Native Grassland area'. Unmade, muddy path follows river bank, across river from CUB brewery and through a stand of elm trees.
2. Footbridge leads to alternative walking track to Children's Farm, interesting rock strata, and Dight's Falls on other side of river. Continue walking through park, and pick-up unmade path between Boulevard and river.
3. Turn right at right fork, along path head- ing steeply uphill to the Yarra Boulevard. Views of Children's Farm; Hodgsons St Helliers, later site of Convent of Sisters of the Good Shepherd; and Johnston St Bridge (1958, replacing 1857 stone and 1876 part-suspension bridges).
4. Turn left at the Yarra Boulevard and walk along footpath under elevated road.
5. Turn left down marked track towards Boathouse, just after road turn-off marked 'City'.
6. Studley Park historic boathouse, toilets, rowing-boat hire, coffee shop (try the hedgehog!) and picnic facilities riverside. Ideal spot to stop for a mid-walk break. Backtrack along path up to the Boulevard.
7. Go right on Bouvlevard and immediately left onto rough track just before overhead road bridge. This brings you up to Studley Park Rd. A rude shock as you emerge from the bush and valley. Vehicles are merciless as you cross road.
8. Turn right down Walmer St.
9. Some of the grand homes include historic Villa Alba, William Greenlaw's 1880s home with wonderful interior decoration. Another good picnic/stop- ping spot in the park opposite Walmer St. At this location, you are literally surrounded by meandering Yarra river. Continue down Walmer St to finish.
