A beautiful circuit walk through the forest to the little bridge that crosses the petite - but still charming - Sherbrooke Falls!

This popular trail has re-opened in mid-2022 following storm damage suffered in July 2021.

If you're heading south from Olinda, Sassafras or Ferny Creek, watch out for the sign to the Falls on the Belgrave Ferny Creek Road. Alternatively, if you're heading north, you'll see a parking area about 150m north of Anderson Road.

If rushing water is your thing you best leave this walk until after rainfall. The Dandenongs has beautiful forests and great tracks but no significant waterfalls.

Please note that dogs are not permited on this walk. There are no toilets on this loop. For closest Parks Victoria facilities see the map in the 'Find out More' link at the top of this description.

Points of Interest

1. Start here if you're driving

Eyes peeled., there is a car parking area here on the Belgrave Ferny Creek Road.

2. Beautiful forest (no dogs please)

A typical scene from the beautifully forested Dandenong Ranges. This track is part of the National Park so please note dogs are not permitted at all.

3. Take a break

Take advantage of some conveniently placed logs to enjoy the view and the peaceful surrounds.

4. Path to falls

Take this sharp little detour to the right.

5. Sherbrooke Falls

Listen to the rush and gurgle of water after rains as it flows beneath your feet!

6. Turn-around point

After heading up Hillclimb track from the falls-viewing area take a left at Odonohue Track and you'll quickly find yourself back at Ridge track which will take you back the way you came.

7. Popular track

Sherbrooke loop walk is a popular track for local walkers and joggers so you'll probably see others on this walk.

8. By public transport: Belgrave train station

If you're not travelling by car you could walk to the Sherbrooke loop / Ridge Track. It's a 2.2km walk from Belgrave train station, making this a 7.2km walk all up.
