An intermediate half day walk that starts and ends at Baw Baw alpine village on wide cross country ski trails before branching off the Village Trail to a well marked walking track through snow gum woodland. Views include across snow plains, back to the the Mt Baw Baw peak and into the Thompson River Valley. The walk joins the Alpine Walking track near Phillack Saddle and ends at the cairn on top of Mt St Phillack. The trail continues to Mt St Gwinear and beyond for longer walks. Carry water and food and a hat in the summer. During winter the trail is snow covered and is suitable for snow shoeing for those competent in winter environment. Mt Baw Baw village has a secure day car park, public toilets as well as a cafe/restaurant for a coffee or lunch.
