It doesn't take long from the time you step off the tram to feel like you've arrived in the countryside. This very generous parcel of greenery surrounding Edgars Creek in Coburg has received some love from local planting groups, water authorities and local council.
It's become a very popular place for walkers, including dog walkers.
DOGS: Please note that dogs must be on-leash within the vicinity of the wetlands (point 10 on the map) and other conservation projects. Dogs must also be leashed on the paved shared paths for cyclists/walkers near the Merri Creek confluence and paths leading to Newlands Road.
There are no bins on this walk so please take doggie bags and be prepared to carry them!

This narrow pedestrian bridge links Bakers Road and McMahon's Road over the Merri Creek. Head east along it.
Look both ways carefully before crossing. This open grassy field near Coburg Hill marks the beginning of your trek into the Edgars Creek Parkland. Follow the red arrow in photo towards creek.
Local community groups including Friends of Edgars Creek have beautified many parts of this walk with planting sessions over the past decade.
A popular place for dog walkers to let their pups take a dip. Take care after rain as the creek water can become unruly. Please don't scramble down banks as erosion is evident. New bridge! See #15!
After cooling your feet in the creek head north (on west side of creek) through this lovely grove of Eucalyptus trees.
Take the path up (left of photo) to get up to the bridge to cross the creek.
Makes for special photos - not surprisingly. This is known as 'Kodak' bridge as it is sited right near the old Kodak factory. See link for why it is painted this way.

Head back towards the suburbs but not before taking in a final view over the Coburg countryside!
Be sure to check for cars travelling down the hill as you begin to cross over to the roundabout - as shrubbery on the west side of the road can reduce visibility. Perhaps begin your crossing south.
