Description

Our Doncaster/Ruffly Lake park walk consist of a beautiful walk around the lake and all around the Doncaster area. During this walk you will learn about the history of the Schramm’s cottage and see what a great place it has to offer. Continuing this walk you will also walk past Blackburn shops and restaurants where you can stop to have a coffee or even shop for some new clothes.

Points of Interest

1. Ruffey Lake Park

Is a park that links between Doncaster and Templestowe and is approximately 68 acres in area.

2. Ruffey dog Lake

Is a dog lake as well as a scenery lake on the right side of the park on the Doncaster side.

3. Ruffy BBQ area

Is an area for events and for lunches where you can have a BBQ and sit with friends and family.

4. Rieschiecks reserve

Is a football/cricket ground which is used for multiple purposes. Its located-on George street.

5. Schramm’s Cottage

Is a scout hall/history society museum place located on Victoria street in Doncaster East.

6. Zerbes Reserve

Is a footy oval/cricket oval which is located on Blackburn road in Doncaster East and is home to the Beverly hills Football Club and Cricket Club.

7. Blackburn Road shops/restaurants

Is a multipurpose area on Blackburn road with a variety of restaurants and other shops for all people.

8. Tom Kelly Athletics Track

Is an athletics track which was named after a past member who sadly died and his name lives on within the track.

9. Ruffey Lake playground

There are two playgrounds, one on the Doncaster side and one on the Templestowe side.

10. Ruffly Lake look out

Is a lookout to watch the sunset and enjoy the scenery of the park.
