This is a beautiful country walk beginning from the Creswick Museum in the town centre. It traces Creswick Creek along walking paths to St Georges Lake before returning to town a different way.
Starting at the Creswick Museum (former town hall) follow the Wallaby Track from Water Street along the Creswick Creek and over the bridge to Melbourne Road.
Find the Wallaby Track again to St Georges Lake, follow along the spillway then up the hill to St Georges Lake Road.
Follow St Georges Lake Road back towards the town, turn left at Lees Street then right into Moore Street beside Hammond Park Oval, then left back onto Water Street where you started.

The Creswick Town Hall was built in 1876 a magnificent two storey National Trust classified building, with a tower and clock.
The Wallaby Track beside the Creswick Creek is fairly flat and easy to find.

Cross the Creswick Creek bridge and turn left onto Melbourne Rd.
The Wallaby Track continues here.
The Wallaby Track runs through bushland here.
The Goldfields Track runs from Ballarat to Bendigo
Divert from the Wallaby Track towards St Georges Lake then across the spillway.
St Georges Lake
St Georges Lake Spillway. Cross the spillway to the far side of the lake.
Climb the stairs to St Georges Lake Rd and turn left.
Take St Georges Lake Rd (partly gravel) back towards the town.
Entrance to Eastern Hill camp, a lovely place to stay in Creswick. Kangaroos can be seen in this area.
Tremearne House was built in 1881 and was the former Goldfields Hospital. It is now on the campus of the University of Melbourne School of Forestry.
Continue past Hammond Park Oval and back to the start.
