This large open space park is a treat for everyone! The paths are shared by walkers, joggers and cyclists and the lakes and wetland areas are home to many local bird species.
The walk starts and ends at the Tirhatuan Park carpark, playground and picnic area. To the left of the toilet block, the gravel path leads you alongside Dandenong Creek. A short way along take the path to your right. A little way along this path, turn left and you are now on a boardwalk over a small wetland area. There is a chair here for you to sit quietly and spot the birds, frogs and insects around you.
Turn right on the boardwalk as it heads towards the larger of the two lakes. The sculpture within the lake is called Water Kite, and reflects one of the many fun activities to do in the park.
Continue along the path as it navigates around the top of the park, through an open grassy section of the park. Further along this now paved path there is another playground to play in. Stop here or continue on. Up ahead is the smaller lake with a jetty so you can get right up close to the many birds who live here.
Take the path past another wetland area before heading back to the picnic area.
There is an extensive picnic area with sheltered tables and chairs, drinking fountains, BBQs, a toilet block.
The park boasts two playgrounds. One next to the picnic area, the other is across the park.
Dogs are permitted but must remain on a lead. There is a large off-leash area for dogs to run in..

Bus 862 stops on Outlook Drive at Murray Road.
By Bike
Via the Dandenong Creek Bike Trail. There are bike racks located in the picnic area.
By Car
The park entrance and car park is at the end of Kriegel Way, off Outlook Drive, Dandenong North (Melway 81 E7).
