Ah Wong, a Chinese migrant, set up a market garden on this site in 1877 and supplied vegetables to the district.
Dedicated April 1928, construction cost 1000 pounds. Redeveloped mid 2020 with new memorial panels and flagpoles installed, among other infrastructure upgrades.
Mooroopnas first standalone Post Office 1884-1921, was moved due to the erosion of the river bank.
