Walk or roll paths by the shoreline beaches or the whole lake loop. There are pretty views to Mt Dandenong and across the lake. There are birds and people to watch as they also enjoy the park.

Is this walk accessible for me?
There are short walks from the car park beside the shore. There is a longer walk around the lake. There is something for everyone by foot, wheelchair or other mobility aid.

What can I see?
You will see views of the lake and bushland. Mt Dandenong is in the background. There are people using non motorised boats, fishing, exercising and playing. Many birds come to the lake.

How accessible is the path?
There are maps and signs on the walk, paths are wide and flat. Wheelchairs can turn easily. There are sealed paths near the car park. The rest are compacted gravel. Where different surfaces meet there can be small lips. There can be loose stones on some sections of the path. If you want to cross the dam wall, there are short, moderate slopes at each end.

The one footbridge has a minor slope. There is an accessible boardwalk over the water.

Mobile coverage is good.

Cyclists may share some paths.

Rest areas
Accessible BBQs, picnic tables, seats with armrests and shelters. Bins are provided. The playground has many accessible features including a Liberty Swing, splash play, sensory experiences and a wheelchair carousel.

Accessible water fountains are provided. Some have easy toggles some have buttons to work them. Carrying a water bottle is a good idea.

Refreshment trucks visit the car park.

Accessible toilets
There are two accessible bathrooms. One has an accessible toilet. The other includes an automated changing bed and ceiling hoist (MLAK required, contact Yarra Ranges Customer Service).

Dogs
Dogs must be on leash. (Off leash areas are away from paths - below the dam wall and near Bellbird Park).

Parking
Three pairs of accessible spaces with side protection have direct access to paths. The surface is sealed, smooth and flat. The car park is off street.

Public transport
There is no accessible path to bus stops on Swansea Rd.

There is a taxi rank at Lilydale station

Points of Interest

1. Accessible parking

There are three pairs of accessible parking spaces with ramp access directly onto walking paths.

2. Accessible toilets

There are two accessible toilets. This one (door 0.86m wide, turning area 1.2x1.6m) and one that is changing places (door 1m wide, MLAK key required).

3. Maps and signs

There are maps and signs at the car park and along the walk. This one near the accessible playground is a touch screen.

4. Mobile cafe

A refreshment truck stays at the car park every day.

5. Accessible playground

The playground has wide sealed paths, shelters with roll under picnic tables, splash play, tactile areas and a wheelchair carousel.

6. Liberty Swing

Another accessible feature of the playground is the Liberty wheelchair swing.

7. Accessible BBQs

Roll under BBQs on concrete paving can be found along the walk. There may be small lips where different surfaces meet.

8. Beaches and waterside walks

Sandy beaches and walking areas built over the water (with safety rails) are an attractive feature.

9. Accessible water

Accessible water fountains and bubbler fountains can be found along the walk. Those with toggle taps are easiest to use. To be sure you can access water, carry a water bottle.

10. History and views

Where the path slopes up to the dam wall is the ruin of Cashin's Mill. Looking across the lake you will see a good view of Mt Dandenong.

11. The dam wall

You can walk or roll across or below the dam wall. The open space at the bottom is an off leash area for dogs.

12. Dam wall slopes

Walking or rolling access to the dam wall is by short slopes.

13. Seating

Seats with armrests are found along the paths. Many are connected to the path by concrete paving. There may be small lips where different surfaces meet.
