Find out more

Vibrant street art tells a story across Shepparton & Goulburn Valley. This walk takes in the Aboriginal Street Art Project, Sculptures and more. Keep your eye out for more Moooving Art cows scattered around the township. If you wish to add an extra kilometre to your walk, you can continue south along Welsford Street to Victoria Park Lake, and along the lake (Wyndham Street side) to visit SAM (Shepparton Art Museum) and see the Indigenous works at Kaiela Arts.

1. Moooving Art - Monash Park

Moooving Art features 90+ unique, life-sized cow sculptures scattered across Shepparton & Goulburn Valley. Monash Park hosts the largest herd. Each with its own story, scan the QR codes to discover.

2. Shepparton Cenotaph & War Memorial

WWI is commemorated by the "Helping Hand" sculpture by Charles Web Gilbert, and WWII by "Mateship" by Bela Angyl.

4. Private Daniel Cooper Mural by Cam Scale

Private Daniel Cooper, a Yorta Yorta man who fought for Australia during World War I, painted by well known artist Cam Scale. This project celebrates and recognises local Aboriginal history.

5. Sir Murray Bourchier Memorial Statue

The sculpture depicts a horse and rider and signifies the Battle of Beersheba and local solider, farmer and politician, Sir Murray Bourchier.

6. William Cooper Memorial Statue

Located in the centre of the Queens Gardens. The statue commemorates William Cooper the activist and community leader who was instrumental in campaigns for Aboriginal rights.

7. Mechanics Institute Mural

Tucked along the side of the Mechanics Institute building is the Mural (limited access outside of office hours) depicts the building which once housed the Regional Library. Lead artist Vern Alcorn.

8. Stay the Duck at Home Mural

Tank's mural depicting self-isloating ducks at home, in caravans stacked on top of each other, surrounded by characterful mice; a reminder of the need to stay at home during the COVID-19 restrictions.

10. Shepparton Brewery Mural by Tank

The front of Shepparton Brewery was given a creative facelift by local artist Tank. If you look closely you'll find a couple of mice on the mural enjoying pizza and a cold drink at the Brewery.

11. Aboriginal Street Art Project - William Cooper and Pastor Sir Douglas Nicholls Mural

Painted by Adnate the mural depicts the late William Cooper and the late Pastor Sir Douglas Nicholls KCVO OBE MBE, both leaders who made significant contributions to the region and Australia.

Painted by well known artist Adnate, features Aunty Margaret Tucker (MBE) and Nora “Nanny” Charles - two significant past local elders.

First year TAFE art students worked with tutor Angi Russi to sculpt this hebel wall.

This mural captures some of Shepparton's history.

15. Joseph Furphy Memorial Statue

Joseph Furphy a writer and poet, who wrote under the name Tom Collins. A life like bronze of Joseph Furphy with a hand carved menhir (standing stone) with words from and about Joseph's writings.

16. Monash Underpass Mural

This mural is located in the tunnel below the Midland Highway between Monash Park and the Shepparton Heritage Centre. It was painted by Stephen Crowe.

17. Aboriginal Street Art Project - Aunty Geraldine Briggs and Aunty Elizabeth Morgan Mural

Painted by well known artist Adnate depicts the late Aunty Geraldine Briggs and the late Aunty Elizabeth Morgan.
