Set right in the heart of Nathalia, this lovely loop walk takes full advantage of the Broken Creek levee banks. The native vegetation lining the creek creates a very inviting central green space.
Founded in 1875, Nathalia nestles around Broken Creek. Set on broad, flat agricultural and dairy plains, the town has an old-fashioned country feel. The creek branches from Broken River. A weir keeps it full.
This an excellent place to visit. Visitors can be assured of a scenic peaceful creek side picnic spot and walk on which to relax. The path has two footbridges for a shorter or longer walk (with the longer mapped here). Look for waterbirds.
The walk is available throughout the year, and you can visit anytime. Start at the small park located across the road from the Bridge Hotel. At dusk bring mosquito repellent to keep insects at bay.
The park situated next to the creek offers all the necessary amenities to have a pleasant day including toilets, barbecue facilities, parking, a fenced playground, grassy areas, picnic tables, and a fishing platform.
Nathalia has excellent facilities, shops in the main street, accommodation and meals.
Dogs should be leashed.
There is plenty of parking space along the walk.

There are a variety of water birds to observe, such as this Australian Darter.
