PLEASE NOTE, the start of the walk route as indicated on the map is not accurate. Bright Centenary Park is on the south side of the river (near Bright Splash Park), so the route would start there and follows the path near the river to the Bright Memorial Arboretum, the walk then crosses the river and returns on the north side. Click this link to find another version of this walk.
From the Centenary Park, follow the path along the south side of the river to the Memorial Arboretum and return via the north side of the river.
Access the start/ finish of the Cherry Walk from Centenary Park. Just a short walk from the town centre.
You can also take some time to enjoy the lovely river, or use the waterslide or diving board.
The path continues along the back of the Big4 Holiday Park on Mountbatten Ave.
This is a wonderful park and garden area with a variety of plants and trees. Great spot to picnic. There are some lovely vistas over the river and across the valley.
This sign tells more about the types of trees in the Arboretum. Have a quick read.
This is another good spot from which to access this walk. And note, there are free "poop bags"available to assist in cleaning up after your dog.
Find this bridge to cross the Ovens and return via the north side of the river. It is easy to find and well marked from the walking path.
Continue along the road until you see the river path access again. Easy to find.
At this point you can cross the bridge to return to the starting point or continue along the well marked Cherry Walk route.
