Summary

The Holey Plains State Park is situated south of the Princes Highway between Rosedale and Sale and has many different walks from which to choose.

Description

The main access to the Holey Plains State Park is from Rosedale, via the Rosedale Willung Road and Recreation Racecourse Road. A network of sandy roads and tracks provides access within the park.

The park covers an area of 10,460 hectares of mostly Banksia-Eucalypt open-forests and woodlands growing on a series of low sandy ridges. The park protects an extremely high diversity of native flora and abundant wildlife, while providing for bush walking, picnicking, camping and other activities.

Although the tracks at the park are formed, some obstacles are present and some bushwalking experience is recommended to avoid becoming lost.

The walks include the following:
• Harriers Loop – 1km, 20 minutes return
• The Long Swamp Walking Track (3.2 kms; 1.5 hours return) starts near the tower and leads to the largest swamp in the park.
• Pipelines track
• Wildflower track
• Holey Hill Track
