Description
The walk is on a stunning bit of coastline that includes some amazing rock formations and views out to sea. The sandstone cliffs are up to 100 metres high. There are a couple of seats, one worth shelter, along the way so you can sit and gaze out to the Indian Ocean.
The walk is on the lands of the Nanda , the traditional owners of the land.
The walk is a small part of the Birgurda Trail which is an 8km one way and 16km return walk. Bigurda is Nando for a small Kangaroo, also know as the euro.
In Spring the wildflowers are simply stunning. While we walked in early October, we saw a Humpback whale out to sea on its way back to the Southern Ocean for Summer. We also saw many lizards and birds including kestrels swallows and diving sea birds.

Points of Interest
1. Bigurda Trail
For the more adventurous, this path is the eight kilometre Bigurda Trail that hugs the coastline between Eagle Gorge and Natural Bridge, providing stunning coastal views.
2. Path to Island Rock
Very well made path to the Island Rock lookout.
3. Island Rock Kalbarri
Magnificent views of this amazing coastline.
4. Seat with a view
One of a couple of very inviting seats on which to gaze out to sea.
5. The Shelter
On warmer days (there are a lot of them), this great provides shelter from the sun and also wind and rain.
6. Kalbarri Castle Cove
Apart from the stunning views, you can see the many species of plants that inhabit this harsh coastline.

8. Natural Bridge Kalbarri
As well as the bridge, look out for whales and dolphins and diving sea birds. the cliffs are made of 480 million-year Tumblagooda Sandstone.
9. Looking South
The stunning and slowly decaying cliffs seem to go for ever.
10. The local wildlife
We saw five of these lizards on the walk.
11. Meandering boardwalk
The boardwalk provides a very good walking surface, protects the land and provides and an opportunity to observe plants and wildflowers from close up.
