A lovely little walk (signs at site say 2.3km one way, 4.6km return) following Dry Diggings Track along Sailors Creek to the Hepburn Shire's best mineral spring!
This lovely little walk is situated in the Hepburn Regional Park, managed by parks Victoria.
The Mineral Spring at the end of the walk is fun to enjoy with signage explaining its history and purported health benefits. An original bore was drilled in 1984, and the newer one in 2002.
This track forms a tiny section of the 210km 'Goldfields Track' walking track, which goes all the way from Mt Buninyong to Bendigo. Within this, the Dry Diggings track that this walk follows in its entirety 61km from Daylesford to Castlemaine (an adventure for another time?!)
ROUTE NOTE: Approx 400-500 metres into the walk there is a track junction (see Point 3 photo on map). Go left here rather than following straight ahead. We initially took the wrong turn and ended up down at the creek in an area with lots of blackberries!
See Park Victoria's link ( Find out more) to see conditions including dog regulations (must be on-lead at all times) and local condition updates. Please note bikes and horses are NOT allowed.
There is a rustic, drop toilet at the Tipperary Springs picnic ground, but no toilets at Twin Bridges (the start of this walk).

What a great way to start a walk! These stepping stones take you across the Sailors Creek to begin your 2.3km walk to Tipperary Springs. For more walks in area see link.
In the early stages of the walk you'll see indigenous paper daisies (Summer/Autumn), lomandra grass and others although many weed species (dandelions) are prolific in the picnic areas (don't spread!)
Be sure to take the left track here at this junction as you come over little hill (it was not sign-posted when we did this walk)
One of the loveliest things about this walk is that you get many great views over the creek for much of the journey.
There is a lot of shade along the route care of the magnificent gums. The track is steep and narrow in some sections though generally well-maintained.
You'll know you're close to the refreshing mineral springs when you see this view!
Renowned as Hepburn Shire's best spring be sure to take advantage of the refreshing, bubbly (and highly mineraled!) water. Check signage for condition of water (sometimes not suitable for drinking).
You can head back over the bridge and 2.3km along Dry Diggings Track to Twin Bridges, or make your walk a bit longer and head to Bryce's Flat. Map in link.
