Walk along the Barwon River with a side trip to Buckley Falls if you're feeling energetic.
Start at the bottom of Pakington St where the only part of the path is steep. Take a stroll to the left at the bottom and pass under the Latrobe Terrace and Moorabool St bridges. Corio Bay Rowing Club and the John Landy Athletic Field are next. The Troop Loop (named after marathon champion, Lee Troop) starts at the corner of Swanston St and the athletic field. Cross the river at Gundog Lane and continue on the opposite side passing Barwon Valley Golf Course. Walk under Moorabool St and Latrobe Terrace where the path turns into a road beside Barwon Valley Park. Plenty of picnic tables here for a rest stop. An old mill can be seen here on the opposite side. Cross the river again at Shannon Avenue where Balyang Sanctuary sits next to Balyang Par 3 Golf Course. Take a side trip to Buckley Falls, which is quite steep but worth the view, or continue back to the start at Pakington St.
