This is our walkability project for SOSE.
We walked around Tyndale Christian School and assessed the walkability of the area.

The gutters keep the community safe by draining down the water from rainfall. It makes the street more walkable because citizens can see that it stops the cause of flooding.
The bus stop is near the Junior school and it has safety bars for the younger children and provides transportation for all of the schools kids to get a safe ride home.
Whilst walking on the street there were not many bins. The community needs to add more bins in to make the area more liveable and walkable.
The disposal bags are a great community item for everyone to use. Anyone in the community that owns a dog can use them without having to worry about bringing their own disposal bags.
The playground is a great place for everyone to visit, you can just sit down and relax or you can watch your children play. It's friendly for the environment and brings many people together.
The oval is used by the community lots. It is definitely a good influence for health, the environment and makes the place more walkable.
This animal disposal is bad for anyone on the oval. Someone could step in it and have a nasty smelling shoe, this is a big hazard and does not help the place become more walkable.
The lights brighten up the field so that people can go on the oval at night or early in the morning. This helps ensure the parents that they can watch their kids knowing they are safe and can see.
The club room is there for the kids and the adults to go inside and get fitness equipment, or its there for shelter. It makes the place more livable for all the people that use it.
The puddles are defiantly a big hazard for the walkability of the area. It is dangerous and people could slip and fall, which means they will not feel safe to walk in the area again.
The graffiti is a very big hazard for the walkability in the area where people live and walk around. No one wants to be near a place that looks bad, so people might move to a cleaner spot.
The recycled water is good for everyone and shows that the community is environmentally friendly, it warns people that the water is not good to drink and that they shouldn't drink the recycled water.
The location sign is good for anyone that needs to know the location of the oval and know that they are in the right place. It is more walkable for everyone in the area.
The gates are great for the community and anyone using the oval. People can quickly get in and out without the struggle of having to walk so far to get off of the oval.
The post man is a great way to show that the community has public surveillance. it makes the place more livable because people will want to live somewhere there is more surveillance.
The traffic lights are a very safe way to show people that the place is walkable. It helps show that the traffic is controlled well and gives everyone a sense of relief that their safe on the roads.
The signs on the streets are a great direction for all citizens, it shows a sense of knowledge to the people that need it on the roads or driving a vehicle and helps the walkablitly of the area.
The crossing button has graffiti on it. No one wants to touch it because of how dirty it looks. This is bad for the walkability, people will not want to walk near the filthy looking crossings.
These traffic buttons are great and trustworthy for anyone walking in the area. People don't have to rush or be afraid to cross the road so these buttons increase the walkability everywhere.
These traffic crossings are a guide to how far out one can go. The lines are there to keep people safe from accidents and they help the walkablility because people know they are safe in the crossing.
The go and stop man indicates whether a person can cross or not. If the man is green it means that you can go, whether it turns red while your crossing the car shouldn't go. If it's red then stay.
This sign tells people they can start to speed up at the end of a school zone. This helps Salisbury East become more walkable. It's safer for everyone and ensures parents that their kids are safe.
This is a hazard , not many people want to walk on a footpath with rubbish. A piece of rubbish on the footpath does not make the place very livable and make it less walkable.
The different heights in the footpath are a tripping hazard. People don't want to walk along footpaths that they feel are unsafe. This effects the walkability in the area.
The cracks in the footpath are a tripping hazard and are not safe for people to walk on. The cracks in the ground also don't make the place look livable therefore people will not want to walk there.
The ramps help make the place more livable and walkable for all people that are disabled, old, need to push prams and for kids who enjoy riding bikes, skateboards, etc.
The shopping center is a great way to help the community come together. It's a great place to catch up with friends, go food shopping or have dinner and It's not a very far distance to travel.
The telephone box is very livable for everyone in the community, anyone that needs to use the phone urgently can quickly go to the telephone box and make a call.
The post box is used by many people and it easy to get to, the post makes the place more liveable and helps if you need to send a letter quickly.
