As an easy bike ride, or challenging walk, this is a healthy and envigorating traverse at the foot of the Dandenongs, this trip features shady and open trails, views of the ranges, and a good coffee shop to finish with. A more direct return to the start is via Forest Road

This reserve was created by Knox City Council in the late 1980s, and features restful gardens, picnic facilities, and also the City of Knox war memorial, opened 2014
Blind Creek is one of the principal water courses of the City of Knox, occasionally seen above ground after heavy rain. The rail overbridge is recent, for many years a small timber trestle stood here
The rail crossing now goes underground, but for many years this was one of Melbourne's worst road crossings, finally graded separated in 1998
Bayswater crossing has been removed in 2016 and the rail station rebuilt
This park has been altered in recent times to a walk-friendly area suitable for kids and strollers, with a picnic area, and the old D3 steam loco, placed in the park in 1963, for kids to play on
The underpass avoids heavy traffic on this OD (Over Dimensional or Overdose?) route, though is known to flood after heavy rains
After the underpass, the road side path is open (though not straight!) and flat before the final climb to our destination
The roadside path is well away from all the traffic. The path crosses from the north to the south side midway, and crosses some side streets
The local shopping centre, with a bookshop, takeaway, and two coffee shops. The Gully Gang normally heads for the coffee shop near the top lights, the start of the famous 1 in 20
