A short loop down to the Maribyrnong and back, with some great panoramas and closer views of the river.
A wide cleared path leads from Rowan Drive Kealba down to the river, with a picnic bench on the way, and good views across the valley to Brimbank Park and the EJ Whitten Bridge. Although Melway 14 shows a bridge across to Brimbank Park from the bottom of the path, this does not exist. The rapids there could only be crossed with difficulty when the river is at its lowest, if then. Walk down by the river; then back up to the start is a gentle rise with another picnic bench near the top.

The path starts unprepossessingly at the junction of Rowan and Orbital Drives
But it soon improves with fine panoramas to Brimbank Park and the Maribyrnong valley, with a picnic table and seats well placed to enjoy the view
Walk straight downhill - this section would be less pleasant to walk up - and turn left at the fork at the bottom.
The Melway shows a bridge here. It is actually a set of rapids. It might be possible to cross if the river is very low and slow, but otherwise I'd turn back.
Return to the fork and continue along the path, now following the river downstream. Plenty of planes to share the walk with!
Some fine close up views of the river at this part of the walk.
A good view down the Maribyrnong valley to the EJ Whitten Bridge as you turn away from the river and head gently uphill.
Returning to the start there is another picnic bench, with a view up to Orbital Drive Kealba and down river.
