If there’s any walk you don’t want to forget your camera on, it’s this one! This walk is surrounded by picturesque parkland and is a relatively easy walk with a few small inclines and declines. Arthurs Seat is a great day out and surrounded by popular attractions - this walk is one not to be missed!

This walk begins at the Arthurs Seat Eagle, one of Mornington Peninsulas most popular attractions. The Eagle is a series of enclosed gondolas soaring up and down Arthurs Seat offering panoramic views across Port Phillip Bay where you will be able to see the Melbourne skyline, the You Yangs and Mount Macedon. Make sure you save some time to jump on board The Eagle for a ride.

Don't forget to stop and take a photo of yourself sitting on the oversized Arthurs “Seat” before pausing to take in the views across the bay at Arthurs Seat Viewing Platform.

Entering the Arthurs Seat State Park, follow the signs for Matthew Flinders Cairn and you will find yourself walking down a rustic dirt path with views of the glittering blue ocean through the trees. Once you find yourself at Matthew Flinders Cairn, get ready for the most spectacular view across Port Phillip Bay that you can find! To your right, you will be able to see the Dromana and Safety Beach Piers as well as the Rosebud Pier to your left and the Melbourne city skyline in front of you. Don’t get too distracted by the incredible view and forget to have a look at the Matthew Flinders Cairn monument which represents where Flinders first observed Port Phillip from a height.

The next stop are the William Ricketts Sculptures, a tribute to the official Indigenous owners of our land and next to them, another gorgeous view across the bay. As you make your way along the path, take in the peaceful atmosphere and the gorgeous flora and fauna (including the Rose Garden and the Kangaroos which are always present early morning and close to dusk!) Additionally, stop for a rest at the quaint duck pond before walking through the Indigenous Garden.

As you make your way back to your car, make sure to stop off at The Eagle Café which serves up lovely morning tea, lunches and drinks. Alternatively, there are many barbeque spots as well as several delicious restaurants.

Notes:
- A great alternative starting point is to park at the bottom of The Eagle and buy a round trip ticket where you can get off at the top, complete this walk and then hop back on to ride down to your car
-While you’re in the area, make sure to stop by The Enchanted Adventure Garden – a great place for both kids and adults! (http://www.enchantedmaze.com.au)
-If you want to make this walk a bit more challenging, follow one of the signs for the Two Bays Tracks which make their way in all different directions to some great spots
-This walk is not one for your dog - make sure to obey the Arthurs Seat State Park rules and regulations
-This walk will generally take longer than 31 minutes. Allow up to 1 hour to make your way around
