There are so many things to see and learn on this short walk through Gallipoli Park and surrounds. The park was redeveloped following the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires.
Included is the very popular Kin Playspace, which incorporates traditional play equipment as well as a water play area and flying fox. While there, you can even brush up on your sign language with posts dotted around showing the Auslan signs for all the letters of the alphabet and various words.
You can also stop to browse second hand books at Marysville Booknest, which operates Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. It is situated in a replica of the original police office building.
Other features of the walk include the Gallipoli Park Lake, Steavenson River, a second playground, variety of artwork, a skate park and BMX track and sports oval. There is an undercover BBQ areas and nearby toilets.
Getting there: You can park your car at the Visitor Information Centre or there are several car parks that can be accessed from Falls Rd.

A locally run second hand book shop which operates out of a replica of the original police office circa 1865. All funds raised go to promoting reading and writing in the shire.
A place for the kids to test their bike or scooter skills, or just enjoy running up and down the ramps.
Be sure to admire the gorgeous Yarra Ranges in the background while the kids have fun on the playground or you cook up lunch at the undercover BBQ area.
Keep an eye out for the artistic contributions made by local residents along the path. Doubles as a place to rest and enjoy the lake.
This structure provides shade on a hot summer's day and is lovely to walk under. There are also seats where you can rest and enjoy the view of the lake.
A playground with entertainment for children of all ages. Most popular were the water play area and flying fox (just over the other side of Learys Creek). Brush up on your Auslan (sign language) too!
