If you can get there early in the morning, watching the sunlight spread across the landscape is pretty and special, the light can be fabulous. In winter the Victorian high country is capped with snow. Alone with an intimate partner ….. very nice.
The walk looks over the north of its home location, Mt Lawson State Park. It is a short and not particularly steep foot trail covering granite rubble, the ground is uneven. Knowing you are stable on your feet or collecting a hiking pole before proceeding is a good idea. It is a great adventure for kids and a lovely shared experience for adults.
If you do have kids with you keep an eye on them. There are cliffs and steep drops at the top.
It is a dirt road up to the starting point of the walk, one that is probably best suitable for 2WD in dry weather. Low slung 2WD should be driven carefully.
There is car parking, a fire grate and picnic table at the walking track entry. A trailhead sign marks the spot. This is a return walk. Trail markers are in situ all the way.
Dogs are not allowed on this walk as it is in a State Park.
Be equipped for self-reliant walking. Carry food, water, First Aid, be SunSmart.

The walking track is clearly identified with trail markers. It is a foot trail with sections that are uneven due to rock litter. Take your time.
There are some amazing boulders and tors to investigate along the way. How in the world did they end up like that? Look it up - fascinating!
Take note, especially if you have kids with you.
Kilometre after kilometre of rolling mountains and hills.
Splendiferous.
Forest and more forest - wonderful. Winter snow caps will be on.
Edges are unguarded, so watch your steps and those of your kids.
