Starting at Poyner Reserve, explore the story of Bour-deet. Read about the artists Aunty Kim Wandin and Chris Joy and their connection with Country. Take time to imagine the tradition of the Bour-deet from protecting Country in the waterways, to the roots being a rich source of food and the reeds being utilised for weaving baskets and eel traps.

Use the wayfinding sign and QR code to connect to Lilydale's rich culture and history. Explore the Wurundjeri Wandoon story of Bundjil, the creator.

From the sign, make your way around the reserve. At the east end of the reserve, spend some time connecting with the art sculpture Bour-deet. Run your finger along the etchings in the reeds and think about the resilience and cultural significance of the plant.

Did you know that sometimes you can actually see Bour-deet in the small water way next to the sculpture.

Make your way back to the wayfinding sign to increase your connection to Country, increase your connection with community and enjoy walking for good health.
