This walk is accessible for everyone. It is easy by foot, by wheelchair or other mobility aids.
How accessible is the path?
Paths are sealed or gravel, wide and smooth. Wheelchairs can turn. There is a mild slope near the lake. Mobile coverage is good. An information shelter has a bench seat, map and information.
The path is exposed to the weather as you approach the lake. There is a small sloping concrete footbridge. There are uneven areas beside the path. The only steps are down to the lake beach.
Cyclists may share this path.
Rest areas
The walk has shady trees, large and small picnic shelters connected to the paths. Some are across grass. There is room for wheelchairs inside.
Recent improvements include roll under tables, BBQs and seats with back and armrests. These are connected to paths. Older style BBQs are on concrete pads. Lips may be present between different path surfaces.
There is a playground with a Liberty Swing for wheelchair users. The rest of the playground is not accessible.
There are no bins - take your rubbish home with you.
New accessible water fountains have been installed. There is nowhere to purchase refreshments in this part of the park.
Toilets
There is an accessible toilet. Short, sealed, mildly sloping paths access the toilet block.
Dogs
Dogs must be on a leash.
Parking
The car park for this walk is inside the Jells Park. Surfaces are generally sealed, smooth and mildly sloping toward the path.
Several pairs of accessible spaces are provided with "No Parking" areas between them. These have kerb less access to the walk via wide sealed footpaths.
Buses
There is no accessible pathway to buses on Ferntree Gully Road.

Recent installation of BBQ shelters and seats with armrests connected to the walk by compacted gravel paths has improved accessibility. There is a wheelchair Liberty Swing in the playground.

Bushland along the walk has many native plants. Many of the trees are beautiful to look at.
The is a short, wide, humped concrete footbridge when you get near the lake.
The beach at the lake is popular for watching birds. There is a step down to the beach.
Benches are provided on the path by the lake.

Many people like to fish in the lake. There are jetties to fish from. The main jetty on the lake was closed for repairs at the time of writing.
