Is this walk accessible for me?
This walk has 2 flatter areas connected by mildly sloping paths. If slopes are difficult for you, enjoy the upper area of wonguim wilam. If slopes are easy, include the riverside. Both are accessible by foot, wheelchair or other mobility aids.

How accessible is the path?
Paths are sealed or compacted gravel, generally firm and wide enough for side by side travel.

There is room to turn a wheelchair. Mobile coverage is good. Alternative pick up can be arranged at Warrandyte River Reserve car park.

Lips may occur where different surfaces meet. One riverside section east of the bridge has some soft gravel where flood erosion has been filled. There are firmer areas at the sides. This path can be muddy after rain.

There are information signs, but few direction signs.

There is fencing around wonguim wilam. There are no safety rails along the river. Some paths have uneven ground or drop offs at edges.

Cyclists may share some paths.

Rest areas
wonguim wilam is well maintained. It has accessible BBQs, picnic tables, seating with armrests, shelters, play space, art and toilets. Bins are provided.

The river section has gym equipment and occasional seating. Low hanging plants may be present. The Yarra River occasionally floods this section.

Bowl style water fountains are provided. Carrying water is a good idea.

Toilets
A ramped accessible toilet is available.

Dogs
Dogs must be on leash.

Parking
There is a wheelchair ramp from Warrandyte Road into the park.

Find 2 car parks west of Kangaroo Ground - Warrandyte Rd Bridge. Each has 1 accessible space. Wonguim Wilam has rear loading room and a protected side zone. The surface is sealed and smooth. Warrandyte River Reserve parking is less accessible (see photo).

The path starts beside the car park. There are no kerbs or road crossings. Note: the car park east of the bridge has no accessible path to the walk.

Public Transport
Route 906 stops opposite on Warrandyte Rd. There is shelter, seating and passenger information. There is no pedestrian crossing to the park. Warrandyte Rd can be busy.
