Description

Find out more

If it wasn't for the spectacular harbour views, you could almost forget you were in Sydney on this superb coastal walk.

Starting in quiet coastal bush, you're a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city. And even when you’re not in the forest, the wander through secluded harbour-side neighbourhoods is still very relaxing.

A highlight of this path is the walk through Sydney Harbour National Park at Dobroyd Head. The natural vegetation is quite low in most places, allowing you to see over it and admire the views of the Harbour.

The walk takes you to a number of places that could be considered attractions in their own right like Clontarf Reserve, Grotto Point Aboriginal Engraving Site and Forty Baskets Beach

There are plenty of opportunities to rest and recharge too, with a number of different beaches to swim at and cafes at various points.

Notes:
- This is a one-way walk, not a loop. You can walk it in either direction.
- The best way to access this walk is by public transport, with 30 bus routes (yes that's right, thirty) crossing Spit Bridge at one end of the walk and the Manly ferries at the other.
- Dogs are not allowed in the National Park, so unless you detour around it, you’ll need to leave fido at home.
- There are plenty of steps on this walk, it's not one for the pram.
- Toilets are available at various locations on this walk and there are drinking fountains at Clontarf Reserve, Fairlight Beach and Manly.
