This walk traverses an enjoyable bushland gully beside the fresh waters of Koetong Creek. The native vegetation, bird and wildlife will keep you interested all the way, especially in spring.
Find a perch amongst the granite above the creek or its cascades and take in the view. When the flow is gentle, find a rock pool to bathe or soak in.
Mt Lawson State Park is 13,150ha of wild country including towering peaks and deep gullies. It is reasonable to take a half day to travel to and walk Koetong Creek. However, if you are up for camping it makes the visit all the more worthwhile. Campsites have fire pits and picnic tables.
The road in can be a bit rough, so make sure you are not in a low slung 2WD and have 4WD in the wetter months. Note: some tracks may be closed between June and November for environmental and safety reasons.
