On this walk you will see people enjoying the outdoors whether walking, rolling, playing in accessible play spaces or on the lawns, boating, picnicking, barbequing or talking to the swans.

This walk is accessible for by foot, in a wheelchair or with any other mobility aid.
How accessible is the path?
Map signs are placed regularly on the path. The accessible walk as mapped by Victoria Walks has paths that are sealed, smooth, firm and flat. There is space to turn a wheelchair and for side-by-side travel. No steps are encountered. Path edges meet grassy lawns.
There is a wide boardwalk footbridge with safety railing that has a mild slope. Other bridges may not be accessible and are not included in this map.
There are options to walk different, shorter routes with many alternative points along the walk that allow vehicle access. Mobile phone coverage is good.
This is a popular and sometimes very busy parkland with many attractions. Dogs must be on a leash. Cyclists may share some paths.
This walk offers many fully accessible features including play spaces (with water play and a maze), picnic shelters, tables, BBQs, accessible food preparation benches and bins. Food and drink can be purchased across Pertobe Rd.
Rest areas
The area is exceptionally well maintained. Back and armrest seats are connected to the path thought the park. There are numerous built shelters with some large shade trees. There is an accessible viewing platform. Off path rest spaces are available. Accessible information signs describe features of the area.
Accessible drinking fountains and accessible toilets are provided along the length of the walk.
Public Transport
Bus No. 5 travels along Pertobe Rd stopping 450 meters away. A wide sealed footpath and pedestrian crossing give access to the park entrance. The bus stop has a sign, no kerb, seating or shelter.
Parking
There are multiple off-street car parks along Pertobe Road with multiple accessible spaces. Protected side space and extra wide parking areas are available. Ramps are provided where kerbs exist, otherwise there is kerbless entry to walking paths. Often no road crossing or walking through car parks is required.

With sealed, smooth and flat paths of 1.5 to 2.5 meters wide there is plenty of room for wheelchair turning and side by side travel. There are also many places you can pull over.
Map signs provide where you are and where you want to be information.
The unsealed and grassy paths around the lake are not mapped here because they didn't suit a push wheelchair. However, powered chairs may find them accessible.
There is everything you need for great fun in the outdoors here - just saying, it can get busy.
If you want to roll up to push someone on a swing by the lake, no worries.
Many birds call Lake Pertobe home. The Black Swans are particularly fearless and don't mind attempts at stealing food. Please do not feed the birds. Paddle and power boats are available for hire.
An accessible boardwalk footbridge with a mild slope and safety rails crosses the lake to an installation on the other side. Most bridges are not accessible due to steeper slopes and movement.
Many of the picnic tables (indoor and outdoor) are connected to the main paths by sealed accessible paths and have roll under spaces for wheelchairs.
After crossing the bridge you come to an accessible gathering place and viewing platform over the water. You can watch the boats go by and all the activity in the various play spaces.

All picnic and BBQ shelters are designed with accessibility in mind regarding car access, inside mobility, food preparation, cooking, eating and outlook.
There are accessible toilets all along the walk. They are directly connected to the walking path via sealed pathways and have accessible parking very close by.
Like the rest of the park, the accessible toilets are very well maintained. Door 0.92 meters wide. Floor area 2.55x2.8 meters.
There are several locations with accessible parking spaces. Most have protected side space and sealed, flat surfaces connecting directly to the path via ramps or kerbless surfaces.
