This is our base-level Crusoe Reservoir walk for Step10 Bendigo! This is where we will meet on Saturday mornings to get some steps in together!
Take in a leisurely lap of Crusoe Reserve, about a 15-minute drive south of Bendigo.
We will meet next to the Information Board just inside the gate from the car parking area. Once everyone has assesmbled we'll make our way in a clockwise direction around the reservoir.
The first straight section of the path has a good, clear view over the water. You'll likely see some birdlife making themselves at home.
We'll then cut left onto the shadier, curved trail that will take us the rest of the way around the reservoir.
There are lots and lots of seats along the way should anyone want to take a quick break.
*Please note that the toilet facility as Crusoe Reservoir is very basic. When we visited in August 2025 the light in the toilet was not working. You may want to try to use a toilet before leaving home!
Step10 Challenge is a free women's walking program for women living in and around Bendigo in Spring 2025. The program is run by Victoria Walks in partnership with City of Greater Bendigo, community partners and is supported by the Victorian Government's Together More Active program.

Please meet your Walk Leader at the Information Board just inside the gate that leads into the Reservoir area from the car parking area on Crusoe Road.
The facilities at the reservoir are fairly basic. It is probably best to use a toilet before you leave home!
There are two paths running along the straight north-east bank of the reservoir. On warmer days there are lots of people walking here.
Turn right to keep following the trail the loops around the Crusoe Reservoir. (Do not follow the path straight ahead as this will take you toward No.7 Reservoir).
This is a pretty section of the walk with lots of lovely plantings. It is popular with the birdlife so keep your ears open! Keep to the main track (closest to the water) as you head clockwise.
We were so impressed by the number of seats on the trail around the reservoir. These lovely wooden seats are spaced about 50 metres apart around most parts of the track. See link for comments.
