Travel to North Melbourne station. Outside the station walk right (east) down Adderley St, across Abbotsford and Hawke Sts. Note the quaint terraced houses on the way. At Hawke St the Melbourne Star Wheel comes into view.
Continue along Adderley St to Dudley St where the morning traffic builds and glimpses of Etihad Stadium can be seen. Turn left when you see the Blood Bank building and walk up Dudley St, across Spencer St to the corner of King St. The entrance to Flagstaff Gardens is opposite Witches in Britches Theatre Restaurant.
Walk up the ramp into the Flagstaff Gardens. Take a wander around past the City of Melbourne Bowls Club, the caretaker’s cottage, tennis court, children’s playground. Many different people use the gardens – some for tai chi, personal training, walking the dog or just some peace and quiet in the city.
