Starting at the causeway just off ocean Drive the walk follows a circular path around the island through shearwater nesting sites, along sandy beaches and past the local lighthouse - Suggested route is to go anticlockwise. Be aware if the tide is in beach access/route is not available on the Eastern side

The lighthouse was built in 1859 by Scottish stonemasons out of bluestone. The unique stairway is cut with each step being inserted in the next course of stone in the outside wall.
The Shearwaters construct burrows in the sand to raise their young. From September to April each year thousands of Shearwaters can be viewed on dusk returning to their breading burrows.
