Women Who Walk Princes Park was originally an event partnership between City of Melbourne and Victoria Walks in 2019. We ran a series of social walks to connect female residents with one another, providing inspiration and support to get active in the city's public parks.
Read about the 2019 project here.

Now Victoria Walks is reuniting with local women for This Girl Can Week March 2021!

Join us for a couple of laps on Tuesday March 23rd 6pm. Register to attend here.

You can also join our Women Who Walk Facebook group to share walking photos and information.

2. Connect with other locals

Find a walking buddy and set your own pace! Photo: City of Melbourne

3. Water taps

You'll find many drinking taps along the route to top up water bottles if required, including at this south-east corner of the park.

4. Toilets and pram-friendly track

Toilets are located here near the large playground.

5. Shorter walk route option (turn left here)

Need to cut the walk distance in half? Turn left here and take this path between the sports stadium and playground. Follow the path back to Royal Pde, then left to get back to the pavilion / start.

6. For the longer walk (continue this way)

If you wish to walk the whole 3.2km lap of Princes Park continue this way (rather than turning at point 5) and follow the path as it wraps inside Garton Street and then Bowen Cresent.

7. Toilets

There are more toilets located here at the north-west corner of the park - a lovely spot to visit on a warm day.

8. Shorter route meets longer route

Who will make it back first? Just kidding, take your time!

9. Stick around for a chat and some fruit

No need to dash off. Spend a bit of time meeting other local women and talking to City of Melbourne and Victoria Walks staff about the program and your experience of walking in the city and parks.
