A walk around the rim of the former quarry at Honeyeater Bushland Reserve - some rough surfaces.
This walk follows a path around Honeyeater Bushland Reserve, following the rim of the former quarry, on the track which was re-graded in August 2020.
Distance 1.4km. Earth and gravel surface. Rough surface and natural hazards may exist. Track may be slippery when wet.
Suitable for walkers, some prams and bicycles. Wheelchair users may find the path difficult.

Start by walking east from the old quarry gate, towards the new NBN tower access gate.
The track turns south-east (right) through a stand of Stringybark Eucalypts towards the NBN Tower.
NBNCo has erected a communications tower on the Reserve. The Junortoun Community Action Group uses income from the rental paid by NBNCo for works to improve the Reserve.
Honeyeater Bushland Reserve is the site of a former gravel quarry. From viewpoints along the track you can look over the former works site and observe revegetation activities.
The path crosses the recently repaired dam bank (Sep 2020), from which can be seen attractive views of the dam and the Reserve.
Return to the start of the walk by walking alongside the dam towards the basin of the former quarry, and then up the access road. Look for wildlife using the dam.
