A fabulous riverside walk up the Molonglo Gorge with wonderful scenery, vegetation, birdlife and you can go in for a dip . Lots (and lots) of dogs are often on the walk.
The walk is on the lands Ngunnawal people.
The path can be a bit rough and slippery in parts for those unsteady on their feet.
This information on the Molonglo Gorge Nature Reserve is from the ACT Government webpage :
"Molonglo Gorge Nature Reserve, part of Canberra Nature Park, is a 506 hectare reserve covering a 15.5 kilometre stretch of the Molonglo River (between Sutton Road and Burbong Bridge in the Kowen area, near Queanbeyan).
The gorge is several kilometres long with side cliffs up to 60 metres, rising to a heavily forested escarpment. The Molonglo River flows through a series of cascades and deep pools.
The Molonglo Gorge Recreation Area, on the western edge of the gorge, has long been popular for picnics and has BBQs, toilets and a parking area. A walking trail follows the river for about three kilometres to the Blue Tiles picnic area.
The reserve is part of a regionally important wildlife corridor along the Queanbeyan Fault, utilised by a number of threatened woodland bird species."

Nice shady area with a couple of picnic tables and some grass to sit on near the river's edge.
This little rocky beach is most accessible swimming spot we found, which was great on the warmish day.
The path goes up a little higher for last part of the walk to Blue Tiles Picnic Area.
You can see a couple of houses along the ridge across the river on the NSW side (we got a bit jealous)
There are many options to view up the river, through the trees. On a sunny day it is gorgeous.
The start information sign clearly makes the start of the walk.
Don't be fooled by the flat wide path at the start, it doesn't last!
There are quite a few sport for dogs to jump in after a stick, but this one looked like the best.
A couple of parts of the path have some stone steps up the steeper bits.
Some parts of the path are a little overgrown or have a bit of a steep drop (steeper than this) and the ground can be a bit uneven.
Stone walls next to the path can be found are hear and there.
There are many little rapids or falls, its a joy to hear the water rushing over the rocks.
