Summary

The excursion organised for stage 1

Description

A excursion walk
The excursion organised for stage 1 will take students on a 3.5km walk along the Newcastle Foreshore. A bus will drop students at the Foreshore Park to begin the walk, students will then walk to the Foreshore Park, Nobbys SLSC, Nobbys Beach, Macquarie Pier, Stony Point, Nobbys Lighthouse, Newcastle Break wall, Fort Scratchley and Parnell Place playground. The class will stop at each location to discuss the locations features, how the location can be cared for, and if the location could rearrange to accommodate another use. The class will then take photographs of the area and record notes on their assigned iPad. This excursion has clear links to the geography syllabus through content strands “features of places” and “how places are organised”. This excursion will be completed after lesson 8.
