The highlight of this walk is the little gem of Sutherland park which has a large variety of flora to be observed and admired. A small sample of what you can see is provided below.
Trees:
Silver wattle, Light wood, Cinnamon wattle, Black wattle, Blackwood, Myrtle Wattle, Golden Wattle (National Floral Emblem ), Silver leafed Stringybark, Green Scent bark (Rare in Victoria) Swamp gum (Koala food), Messmate, Narrow leaf Peppermint, Cherry Ballarat, Elderberry Panax, Victorian Christmas bush, Golden Spray.

Suggested start of the walk which is just across the road from the local shops and parking area. It is also a great place to enjoy a drink and some snacks after your walk. Toilet facilities available
Turn left into Paul Grove which becomes Rose Bank Lane, the entrance to Sutherland Park is located on Rosebank Lane. About 100m off Rose Bank Lane turn right onto the track and enjoy some nature.
On your left you will come across a lake which attracts ducks and is also home to a number fish.
This is where you cross the small creek as you continue along the path surrounded by rich flora.
At the end of your walk through the park you exist to Sutherland Road, where you make your way back up to Stoney Creek Road, through this quiet local street.
At the end of Stoney Creek Road, turn right into Beaconsfield-Emerald Road to head back towards the town centre.
You are now back at the town centre to where you can take your pick of coffee, hot food or some other delights.
