From Flinders St Station walk over Princes Bridge to the Arts Centre. Pop in to see the 'Kylie on Stage' exhibition of Kylie Minogue's costumes and performances. If that's finished there will be another free exhibition on. Just a short stroll along St Kilda Rd is the National Gallery of Victoria. Plenty of free exhibits on or you can pay for the temporary displays. Across St Kilda Rd is the Royal Botanic Gardens. Perfect for a walk on a warm summer's day. Escape the city to read a book by the ornamental lake or pay for a punt to take you on a scenic tour.

1. Punting on the Ornamental Lake
Have a coffee and lunch at the cafe just near where the punt is available to take you on a trip around the lake
2. Pioneer Women's Memorial Garden
Victorian premier Thomas Argyle dedicated the garden in November 1934, and in June 1935, Lady Huntingfield and the president of Women's Centenary Council, Mrs I.H. Moss, unveiled two bronze plaques.

7. Temple of the Winds
The temple was built in 1901 and sits on a hill overlooking The Yarra River. It is built in grey masonry, is circular and has 10 columns to support it.

Government House is in a walled garden inside the Royal Botanic Gardens boundaries. The flag is full mast so the Governor is at home.

Gardens House was once home to the Directors of the Royal Botanic Gardens.
10. Sidney Myer Music Bowl
The Sidney Myer Music Bowl is a very large outdoor venue - home to Carols by Candlelight on Christmas eve.
11. Alexandra Gardens
Across St Kilda Rd from Hamer Hall, the Alexandra Gardens connect to Kings Domain, the Domain parklands and the landscaped Royal Botanic Gardens.
12. Princes Bridge
Built between 1886 and 1888, the bridge is of historical importance as it represents a boom period in Melbourne.
